Here are some scenarios

  1. User A entered chat link #1 and did not type in anything.

    → No MAU counted

  2. User A entered chat link #1 and continued the chat with you for almost four weeks.

    → counted as 1 MAU

  3. User A entered chat link #1 and left the chatroom.

    → No MAU counted

    → User A didn’t send any messages in the chat link, so no MAU will be counted.

  4. User A entered chat link #1 and sent you a message. In 2 weeks, User A enters chat link #1 again but under a different browser / Incognito window and sent you a message.

    → counted as 2 MAUs

    → The first time user A entered chat link #1, they sent a message, so this is 1 MAU. The second time user A entered chat link #1 and sent a message, but since this is done under a different browser / Incognito window, so we won’t be able to identify if user A is the same person (unless if user A is logged into an account everytime they enter your chat link), so this time it will be counted as a new MAU.

  5. User A entered chat link #1 and sent you a message. In 2 weeks, User A enters chat link #1 again with the same browser and sent you another message.

    → counted as 1 MAU

    → If the user is not logged into an account, we use cookies to track and see if the user is the same. If the user changes their browser or change into Incognito window, we will then see them as a new MAU.

  6. User A entered chat link #1 , and then entered chat link #2

    → No MAU counted

    → User A didn’t send any messages in chat link #1 and chat link #2, so no MAU will be counted.

  7. User A entered chat link #1 and sent a message. One month later, they entered chat link #1 again and sent another message.

    → counted as 1 MAU in each month

    → MAU will re-count once you start a new pricing cycle.

  8. User A & User B & User C enters a group chat link together, and only User A & User B sent a message.

    → counted as 2 MAUs

    → Each unique user in the group chat who sent a message will be counted as 1 MAU
